Cookie Policy
This page explains which cookies PC Check Lab uses and how you stay in control of them.
Last updated on 19 October 2026, this Cookie Policy works together with our Privacy Policy, which covers every other type of information we handle on this website.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that websites save in your browser so they can remember choices and measure visits. Some cookies come from our own site, while others come from partners such as Google that help us show ads and keep every tool free.
Your Hardware Tests Never Use Cookies
Button presses, mouse movements, graphics details, MIDI messages and microphone audio from our testers stay inside your browser memory. None of that test data gets written into cookies, and none of it reaches our server.
Cookies We Use
We group cookies into three types, and only the first type runs before you make a choice in our cookie banner.
| Type | Examples | Purpose | When it runs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | pcl_consent (12 months) | Remembers your cookie choice and keeps our site secure | Always on |
| Analytics | Anonymous statistics cookies | Shows which tools people use most, so we can improve them | Only with your consent |
| Advertising | Google AdSense and partner cookies | Shows and measures ads, including personalised ads | Only with your consent |
Google AdSense and Consent Mode
Our site may show ads served by Google, and Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on earlier visits to this and other websites. We use Google Consent Mode, so Google receives your choice and adjusts what it stores. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland see a consent message that follows the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You can read more about this in our Advertising Policy.
If you reject advertising cookies, you may still see ads, although they will not be personalised to your interests. You can also turn off personalised ads across Google services in Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses this data in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How to Change Your Choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in our site footer. Most browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, also let you block or delete cookies inside their privacy settings. Blocking necessary cookies may mean our banner appears again on each visit, because your browser can no longer remember your choice.
Changes to This Policy
We update this page whenever our cookies or partners change, and the date at the top always shows the latest version. Continued use of our site after an update means you accept the revised policy, as described in our Terms of Use.
